In a setting as exceptional as the mountains, every inch of countryside is worth preserving. Today, practising an outdoor sport, going on holiday and being environmentally friendly are no longer mutually exclusive, so CHALLENGE YOURSELF, ENJOY THE FRESH AIR, HAVE FUN ON THE SLOPES AND SPEND QUALITY TIME in Les Orres...
Add some spice to your holiday, in both summer and winter, and enjoy the mountains all year round. In such a well-preserved, natural environment, there’s really only one risk: that you’ll want to stay!
Les Orres ski resort was originally developed in the 1960s as a ski-in ski-out resort. Its aim? To reduce road traffic in the resort to ensure your safety and create a more tranquil environment.
So you can forget all about your car during the holidays, car parks and shuttles are available within the resort. Added bonus: excellent air quality as judged by AtmoSud in 2013. Take a deep breath!
As a symbol of their commitment to sustainable modes of transport, the resort has added a hybrid bus to its fleet of free shuttle buses. This bus can run for longer thanks to the electric traction as well as the combustion engine, for a significant reduction in CO2 emissions!
"Zero plastic waste” resort : an exemplary recycling sorting system
In addition to the progress made in protecting the environment, the resort has also developed a sophisticated recycling system. We recycle everything here! So remember to find the collection point nearest your accommodation, from amongst the twenty throughout the resort to help us improve our performance even more!
In addition, Les Orres Town Hall has signed a Charter with the aim of achieving ”Zero Plastic Waste.” The resort is therefore committed to putting in place measures to make your holiday even more eco-friendly (new bins, portable ashtrays, reusable, eco cups etc.)
Harmonious mountain architecture
The buildings in Les Orres 1650 have been built as close as possible to the slopes without impinging on the landscape. The properties which are white and larch or clad in red cedar, blend into their surroundings and have been awarded the 20th century heritage label !
To ensure a certain continuity of style, the buildings in Bois Méan, also called Les Orres 1800, adhere to the same principle, blending in seamlessly with the natural environment. This more modern part of the resort, resembles a holiday village, made up of chalets. All have pools and spa areas so visitors can enjoy guaranteed relaxation.
Discover the charm of other local, mountain villages by exploring the 9 hamlets that comprise Les Orres: Les Sagnettes (1250m), Le Pont (1373m), Le Chef-lieu (1493m), Le Bas-Forest (1540m), Le Haut-Forest (1590m), Le Château (1600m), Darennes, Les Ribes (1440m) and Le Mélézet (1450m)

Head in the stars
- Do you fancy rediscovering the constellations during your mountain holidays? For several years now, the resort has adopted a reduced street lighting policy. This reduction in light pollution means we are able to organize several night sky observations every year. The best spot for star gazing? The footbridge on the Elie Meyssirel footpath that links Les Orres 1650 and 1800. Excitement guaranteed !
In 2014, Les Orres became the first mountain resort to be awarded the village étoilé label .(Dark Sky label). The title was reawarded in 2017 but the resort is now focusing on winning its 2nd star - similar to the “Villages in Bloom” label, the “Dark Sky” label has different levels of recognition.
ISO9001 resort
