The Les Orres resort is a pioneer in energy transition for mountain resorts thanks to the successful implementation of an Energy Management System (EMS). This system of managing the ski area’s energy consumption (buildings, ski lifts, etc.) provides real-time data on the resort’s energy consumption meaning that facilities and installations can be more effectively monitored.
Objectives: reduce energy expenditure.

A HYBRID BUS : with election traction has been added to the fleet of shuttle buses, facilitating transport while significantly reducing CO2 emissions.

HEAD IN THE STARS !

The Haute-Alpes region is renowned for its dry, sunny climate and limited light pollution. The responsible management of public lighting since 2009 has made the resort a privileged observation spot, labelled "Starry Village" in 2014.

PESTICIDES PROHIBITED !

Since 2009, the resort has adopted an no pesticide programme on all its green areas and slopes.

AN EXPERIENTIAL RESORT

Les Orres is Europe’s leading mountain resort in terms of ecological transition and has also established itself as the Experiential Resort.2.0. At the instigation of Pierre Vollaire, the Mayor of Les Orres, and his municipal team, several innovative projects are expected to be up and running by 2022, further enhancing the resort’s appeal throughout the year.

› The Experiential Hub: promoting mountain, outdoor and water sports via the latest digital technologies.
› The Sports Innovation Hub: this new mountain sports laboratory, which includes skiing and MTB. Facilities devoted to high-level sport as well as clubs used by amateurs and the general public, conceived in collaboration with international sports hubs and mountain stakeholders

A connected resort

Just because we're hidden away in the mountains doesn't mean we're cut off from the world! The resort has developed several technological tools to improve its services to holidaymakers.

  • Free mobile app is available on App Store and Google Play. It contains all the information you need about shops, activities, accommodation, events and other practical information, with GPS coordinates, but that's not all ! You can also time your ski routes, track the routes of the free shuttle buses, look at the webcams and the live weather information, check on the opening times of the slopes and ski lifts

  • Free Wi-Fi : to date over 126 terminals have been installed throughout Les Orres.

  • Fibre optic broadband arrives! In the age of digital technology, mobility and new types of remote working, Les Orres is to pilot the use of fibre optic cable which will help it develop and expand its business while preserving the environment.
