The Patrolair team of aeronautical experts, based in Aix-en-Provence, has chosen the Les Orres ski resort to train future telepilots. The Hautes-Alpes resort is contributing its logistical expertise and mountain setting to this initiative - a world first - for the operational conduct of missions.
More and more mountain rescue and ski area professionals are seeking training in drone piloting. Searching for victims using an infrared camera, surveying natural hazards, reconnaissance in the event of lift failure, technical surveillance, cartographic analysis, 3D modeling, snowmaking, photography... Efficient and reliable, the drone is proving to be a valuable ally in many mountain applications.
The benefits are manifold:
By setting up a Center of Excellence for Mountain Drones in Les Orres, Patrolair's experts from the aeronautics and defense industries are training mountain people in their own environment.
Open to all, these Qualiopi-certified training courses take place in two stages: theory followed by practical application in the unspoilt open spaces of Les Orres. An ideal playground for practicing in the mountain ecosystem, with relief, obstacles and the presence of animals. In addition, a forum will soon be available to encourage exchanges and feedback between professionals.
