Laura Charles and Sabrina Jonnier guide the Girly Ride
this 2026 edition

Laura Charles

Laura Charles is the French MTB enduro star ! With her fluid, committed style, she has already claimed several World Cup podiums, including a fine victory in Loudenvielle in 2023. Several times French champion, she's one performance after another with a smile on her face. A true fighter who makes the trails vibrate like no one else!

"I'm currently a Nordic, alpine and mountain bike instructor, and for 15 years I competed in cross-country mountain biking with the French national team and as a member of the Pôle France VTT at Besançon high school. Today, I ride enduro and electric enduro. I'm a 5-time French champion (enduro 2018, electric enduro 2022-2023-2024, electric xc 2025), overall winner of the electric enduro world cup 2021 and runner-up in 2023 and 2024.

I'm no longer at the end of my competitive career. I'm involved with young people through the mountain bike sport study program at Besse secondary school. With the AURA committee for the TRJV youth courses and also with the FFC for the relève courses. I love passing on my passion for cycling and making people happy to be out in nature. "

I'm very happy to be supervising the Girly Ride des Orres! Seeing so many girls motivated to ride is a great victory for the sport. I can't wait to share my passion with them and build their confidence!

It's going to be a great weekend!

Nathalie Baillon

Ultra racer cyclist

Nathalie Baillon is a French long-distance cyclist. She discovered this world during a cycling trip to New Zealand. It was the start of a long list of rides! Once back from her trip, she improved her equipment: buying a new bike and panniers... In 2018, she embarked on a 1000 km trek, in less than 60 hours.

The following year, she entered her 1st race, the Race Across France. 2600 km, 36,000 m of positive elevation gain, no less. She finished 1st woman without assistance.
She went on to take part in a number of international ultra-races, where she was an immediate success, with numerous women's victories and top 10 overall rankings: BikingMan Corsica, Trans Balkan Race, Tour du Mont Blanc, 24h du Mans vélo, La Drômoise...

She decided to quit her job as an engineer and set up her own business to live 100% from her passion.

Zoé tested the Girly Ride... and she loved it!

June 2022 saw the first edition of the Girly Ride. Zoé, a young sportswoman from Haute-Alpes who loves the region, took up the challenge. Here's how she felt about the event. Happy reading!

Focus on the FFC and women

Less publicized than men's cycling, women's cycling is now a major strategic development area for the French Cycling Federation (FFC), which has always campaigned for parity in the sport of cycling. To this end, the FFC has embarked on an ambitious feminization plan. The program has a number of objectives, including

  • Access to the sport
  • Development of the top level
  • Support for women leaders
  • Training women for management positions.

All these aspects should help to structure and develop women's cycling.
