Do you know why the French love Belgian jokes? Because they laugh 3 times: the 1st when they tell it, the 2nd when they explain it, the 3rd when they understand it... And do you know why Belgians love Les Orres? Because they come back 3 times: the 1st time they discover a high-altitude family resort with guaranteed snow and sunshine, the 2nd time they finally dare to taste the great French beers, the 3rd time they finally put on their boots and ski for the 1st time... but not the last! Welcome to Les Orres, ski s'fait de mieux..
With 300 days of sunshine a year, Les Orres in the Southern Alps is the resort where snow and sun finally go hand in hand. 100 km of pistes in the heart of a larch forest, offering panoramic views of Lac de Serre-Ponçon and the Écrins National Park, a 2,720 m summit, 1,170 m vertical drop on wide pistes, north-west exposure... here, snow cover, secured by a network of artificial snow, is worthy of high-altitude resorts, with the added bonus of sunshine!
Whether you're a family (Famille Plus label) or a group of friends, whether you prefer downhill skiing, freestyle or ski touring, whether you're in contemplative or sporty mode, whether you're a thrill-seeker or a night-time enthusiast, there's something here for everyone. And it's not all a bunch of nonsense! Here's a closer look at 3 family vacations at the very top... and you can tell us what they are!
To celebrate the festive season in a magical, snow-covered atmosphere, Les Orres is full of surprises for young and old alike: torchlight descents, Santa Claus' arrival, shows, children's workshops, a great gift hunt..
This is the ideal week to come to Les Orres: on the day of arrival, there's plenty of entertainment, fireworks and a DJ night on the snow front to celebrate the New Year, and for the rest of the week, with the French no longer on vacation, it's time to hit the slopes!
For a week of festive family fun, come dressed up for the slopes... or for the organized toboggan race. Blind test, fire show, face painting, children's parade, bingo, fireworks, torchlight descent... there's plenty to keep families and the resort entertained for Carnival. Have a great vacation!
Of course, any good beer bar must have Belgian references! But if you also want to try French-style beers, Le Hug is the place to go: 11 bottled beers and no less than 8 draught beers, including 2 very local ones: Tourmente Session IPA and Dahu ambrée. To be tried - objectively! - with a tasting board of local charcuterie and cheeses accompanied by French bread, to make up your own mind. Talk it over with Fred, the barman, a great beer connoisseur. And, once you've tried the French brews, why not try the moules-frites too?
HIGH-ALTITUDE SPA [ NEW ]
Hôme's new Alpine spa blends into the snowy landscape: at an altitude of 1,800 m, this 200 m2, 8 m-high panoramic dome houses a steam room, sauna, Nordic bath, relaxation area with herbal tea room and 2 treatment rooms (Gemology products, with trace elements extracted from minerals). You'll love the signature hot stone ritual and the parent-child treatment.
SKI TOURING FOR ALL [ NEW ]
Rendezvous in unknown snow! Accompanied by an ESF instructor, hikers, amateurs and aficionados alike, set off to discover the larch forest and wide-open spaces of Orléans, with synthetic skins on skis. At the summit, it's time for a panoramic, undulating descent between France and Italy.
FOR A SAFE START [ NEW ]
With its "Famille Plus" label, the resort does everything it can to ensure the well-being of families, even on the slopes. Its new area dedicated to novice skiers, young and old, is ideal for a safe start on the slopes. The new Prébois area provides easy access to the eponymous green slope via the detachable 6-seater chairlift, and the 1800 snow front is ideally suited. Two conveyor belts serve the toboggan run, the beginners' area and the Marmottes green run. And for the little ones, there's a playground to let off steam!
