Remarkable architectural design serving the public and the environment

The PSI is housed in a futuristic building in keeping with the remarkable contemporary architecture of Les Orres 1650, designed by architects Baillon-Henrion.

The use of top-quality materials makes this building a testament to the mountains of tomorrow. Its design complies with the latest environmental standards (RE2020), and has been conceived to have the minimum impact on the resort and the environment:

  • Its location, which fills the "hollow tooth" between the Pic Vert chairlift and the kindergarten, and blends into the landscape without distorting it
  • Its roof, with no overhangs, retains snow to limit its fall and collects meltwater in collection gutters
  • Green roof terrace
  • High-performance thermal insulation thanks to its underground section and wood pellet-fired boiler room in the basement.

Les Orres resort, looking to the future

As a European leader in ecological transition, Les Orres is gradually building the mountain of tomorrow. The new Pôle Sport & Innovation at Les Orres is part of a decade-long drive to develop a tourism model that is sustainable, socially inclusive and economically efficient.

The investment program continues to focus on three main themes: diversification of activities (of which the Pole Sport Innovation is a part), modernization of the ski area (already underway with the modernization of the ski lifts, the upgrading of the 1800 snow front, and the securing of snowmaking), and reduction of the ecological footprint (as evidenced by the actions to reconcile tourism development and respect for the environment).
