IXS, a European DH mountain bike race in Les Orres

Friday 10th to Sunday 12th July 2026

Don't miss the mountain bike event of the season: the 6th round of the IXS European Downhill Cup. This extraordinary competition is set to set the trails of the Orres Bike Park alight. TheIXS is the ultimate challenge for downhill riders and up-and-coming professionals from the 4 corners of the globe.

High-level riders, spectacular jumps, ultra-technical descents... It's all part of an unforgettable race, and you're in for a real treat. Come and vibrate to the rhythm of the race and cheer on your favorite riders! The start is approaching!

Downhill on the Black Patrol, Les Orres' iconic double black

With its 2.6 km and 565 m vertical drop, the Black Patrol is the Orres Bike Park's mythical trail for elite riders in search of thrills.

With its double-black classification, itfeatures a series of banked turns, jumps, scree slopes and technical sections - a real playground for elite riders. An emblematic spot of the Orres Bike Park, it has hosted numerous competitions and is back in the spotlight again this year with the IXS Downhill Cup.

Fan zones and pedestrian access

There are 3 ways to access the track to watch the athletes' performances:

  • By taking the Pic Vert chairlift (Les Orres 1650): to see the start of the race.
    It is not advisable to venture onto the first part of the run, which is very steep and has no pedestrian access.
  • By taking the Prélongis chairlift (Les Orres 1650): at the finish line, follow the signs to the middle of the run (Roc Garden), about 10 minutes' walk. You can then walk down the slope
  • Walk back up the slope from the finish area at the start of Front de neige 1650

Are you bringing a tent, van or car for the weekend of the event? Use the map to find all authorized pitches and accessible toilets .

During the event, the parking lots will be exceptionally free (the central road zone, in pink on the map, remains paid).

Les Orres Bike Park, competition ground

Antoine Vidal, from the Commencal Les Orres Bike Park team, won the title of 2022 French champion with a time of 3:55.03. He was followed by Loïc Bruni(3:55.04) and Amaury Pierron(3:56.27). However, it is Antoine Pierron who currently holds the best time, with a 3:52.23, set during the final of the Coupe de France de VTT de descente 2024.

In the women's category, Mélanie Chappaz, winner of the EDC#4 Les Deux Alpes 2024, currently holds the best time with 4:36.69, which enabled her to win the Coupe de France 2024.

All these conditions combine to promise one of the most spectacular and hotly contested races of the season. And with the reputation of Les Orres Bike Park, it's likely that a few World Cup riders will also be making the trip.
