Two mountain bike competitions took place this weekend in Les Orres. In all, more than 300 cycling enthusiasts took to the trails of Les Orres, under the aegis of two organizing support clubs: Aix VTT for the Trophée VTT Les Orres and PJPC de Gap for the Championnat de Provence / Coupe régionale Provence - Côte d'Azur.

The Trophée VTT Les Orres is a cross-country event for 7-16 year-olds, held over 9 rounds. Les Orres hosted the 7th leg. Local club PJPC was well represented, with 25 registered riders.

Of note were podium finishes by Léa Borrelly in the junior girls (1st place), Lily Duperron De Maurin in the poussines (2nd place) and Lilou Armand in the pupilles filles and Adrien Kitten in the poussins (3rd place). The next round will take place in Pernes (84) on Sunday, September 24, 2017

After cross-country, it was time for downhill with the Championnat de Provence and the Coupe régionale Provence / Côte d'Azur. In the end, the PJPC club shone, with titles of Provence champions in their category for Nathan Fabregue, Joris Cermolacce and Quentin Leroy.

Les Orres & the PJPC Club
Les Orres - Un partenariat avec le club PJPC

A partnership with the PJPC club

The Les Orres ski resort and the PJPC club have signed a partnership agreement. As part of this partnership, DH team members received their ski passes last week in the presence of SEMLORE director Xavier Corne. The PJPC club in Gap is a huge breeding ground for mountain bikers, with 180 members including 100 youngsters. Team YDH(Young DownHill PJPC) comprises 9 youngsters from minimes to juniors, and a DH "nursery" section already includes 12 youngsters from poussins to minimes. This season, Team YDH will be competing in 2 French Cups, 2 regional rounds, the French Championship and 2 DH Kid events, as well as 2 training courses in Les Orres and 2 others abroad. Note that the PJPC club will be organizing the DH Kids in Les Orres on Sunday August 27.

  • july 22 & 23: Enduro Series

The resort hosts this competition for the3rd year running. This season, the Orres round will be a qualifying round for the Enduro World Series. The resort is looking for volunteers to support this event. If you are interested, please contact Manu Frison on 06 60 99 88 92. A volunteer pack will be given to each participant (meal, T-shirt and 1 winter or summer day pass).

  • august 27: DH Kid

This downhill mountain bike race is open to all categories, from Pupils to Cadets. This event is part of a regional circuit of 3 partner resorts: Puy St Vincent, Grand Puy and Les Orres...
