The resort of Les Orres will be hosting the French Downhill MTB Cup Final on September 14 and 15. An event eagerly awaited by a large public, downhill mountain bike enthusiasts and professionals alike. Following on from the French Championships in 2022, the elite double-black Black Patrol track will once again see France's best riders compete over an entire weekend.
Starting at an altitude of 2,236 m at the top of the "Pic Vert" chairlift, the trail winds for 2.6 km through alpine meadows and larch forests. It offers a succession of high-speed turns and demanding technical zones with road gaps, a BMX line, a canyon jump and a beautiful Rock Garden.
Loïc Bruni, Amaury Pierron, Loris Vergier, Myriam Nicole... They were all there in 2022 for the French Championships, racing down this elite track specially created to qualify for a World Cup round. In 2024, the Black Patrol will once again play host to one of the major races of the season: the Coupe de France final, which will once again see the elite of French mountain biking take to the track.
With its top-quality bike park and expanding infrastructure, the resort has become a destination of choice for top-level riders and athletes, who have been coming back and forth since the start of the season to train and test their equipment. [Read more]
The public attending the event will be able to position themselves in the numerous fans zones along the track to admire the riders' performances on the most technical sections.
At the end of the race, they can attend the prize-giving ceremony on the Les Orres 1650 snow front, and get up close and personal with the riders in a friendly, festive atmosphere. Shops and terraces will be open for them to extend the party in the resort!
