With its top-quality bike park and expanding infrastructure, the resort is becoming a destination of choice for top-level riders and athletes, who have been flocking here for training and equipment testing since the start of the season.
Since June, they've been coming one after the other to Les Orres. The Commencal Les Orres Bike Park Team took advantage of a decompression camp in the first half of the season to bond teams, strengthen ties, prepare for upcoming competitions and test partner equipment.
"Getting together in Les Orres is a fantastic opportunity to strengthen cohesion between team members. The playing field, whether indoor or outdoor, enables us to work together efficiently and to test the equipment of our partner outfitters in ideal conditions that are close to those of competition".
Cédric Ravanel, Team Commencal Les Orres coach
The French MTB team also recently came to Les Orres to train. Junior riders included Nathan Ponvianne (European champion) and Mylann Falquet (French junior champion). Among the senior riders, Johan Garcin was on hand for equipment testing, alongside Vélo Tout Terrain magazine and the BikeLive Youtube channel.
In June, the Serre-Chevalier and Montgenèvre ski clubs, as well as the Alpes Provence and Côté d'Azur ski committees, came to train on the Spot Innovation center's indoor ski mat. This infrastructure is a fantastic technical complement to winter season training, enabling you to work on strengthening your muscles all year round, and to get the feel for the terrain ahead of glacier outings. In August, it's the turn of the Puy Saint-Vincent Ski Club to come and learn, train and strengthen on the Les Orres carpet!
And even on the Olympic side, athletes are coming to the resort with the recent arrival of Jean-Baptiste Bernaz and Louise Cervera, athletes from the French sailing team, both selected for the Paris 2024 Olympic Games. They were able to take advantage of the resort's rejuvenating setting when they came to Les Orres for training sessions on Lac de Serre-Ponçon.
