The 19th edition of the OCOVA "Mountains of Tomorrow " forum will focus on digital solutions "from data collection to territorial intelligence". The consequences of global warming on the availability of water resources, questions linked to energy independence and the development of renewable energies, the need to reduce carbon footprints through measures to promote green mobility and energy sobriety are all issues that profoundly challenge the development models of our mountain territories. Adaptation, mitigation, resilience and ecological transition are at the heart of local, regional and European mountain development strategies.

The role of these tools is to make it easier for local communities to take control of their ecological transition, and to strengthen the coordination of action programs at different territorial scales. The exchange of data through the interconnection of platforms provides regional policy-makers and public authorities with better tools for monitoring, evaluating and enhancing the value of the support and funding programs they implement.

The Internet of Things(IoT), long-range broadband networks(LPWAN), standardized and contextualized data(FIWARE), open source and artificial intelligence(AI) for system optimization are the key technologies that will be discussed during the presentations. But because technologies are nothing without their appropriation by the players involved, an important place will also be devoted to methods of co-construction and stakeholder involvement, and to the enhancement and sharing of data.

The forum will take place on January 9, 2023 at Les Orres and online by zoom platform. It will present models of standardized digital solutions, based on European programs and initiatives, and feedback on their effective deployment through use cases, and will open up exchanges and dialogues with players in the economic development of resorts and valleys.
