From Monday, July 31 to August 4 , 2023 , the Game of Trees Festival returns for a second edition at Les Orres in the Hautes Alpes.

An electric festival where music, art, sport and nature come together to create an inspiring and invigorating human adventure against a backdrop of ecological awareness. On the program, committed artists of all disciplines: Yannick Noah, Deluxe, Suzane, Kalika, Mentissa, Pablo Servigne, Joe Bel, Lou Dassi, Mado la Niçoise, Papa Ours, the artistic collective La Brume, local artisans and producers.

A 2 Pas de la Scène has come up with a varied program that offers Grandeur Nature experiences for all ages and sensibilities. A veritable laboratory for imagining the mountains of tomorrow, it brings together local players and holidaymakers to take up the many challenges of global warming in a positive and mutually supportive way.

A high-flying program in the heart of the mountains

Music and theater are on the program for the week, with dancing and laughter by artists of all styles.... They may be used to the summits, but we're not used to seeing them in this environment!

The Festival also aims to shake things up by featuring local artists as opening acts, but also with a program that gives pride of place to women, with 2 100% all-female evenings. Daytime concerts at altitude will also surprise holidaymakers.

Yannick Noah will be the guest of honor, opening the concerts on Monday July 31. A former tennis player, he's one of France's favorite singers, but he's also a man who cares deeply about protecting our environment. He returns to the stage this year to sing, with his legendary energy, his greatest hits as well as several tracks from his latest album "La Marfée". He will be joined in the first half by Lou Dassi, the Gapençaise star of The Voice.

According to Nicolas Bienvenu, founder of the Festival, "We created this Festival to transmit positive energies to the public, to preserve our environment, and at the same time to support change. Our programming is in harmony with our strong ethical values, following the example of Yannick Noah's commitment."

On August1, it's theater time with "Mado fait son Cabaret". Noëlle Perna, aka Mado la Niçoise, is organizing a casting call for her international tour. Take your chances... come and introduce yourself or discover the artists who will be selected.

On Wednesday August 2, it's back to the music with Suzane, the rising star of French pop, with her committed lyrics, at the same frequencies as the Festival. She'll be accompanied by Kalika, a majestic UFO on the French scene, with her delightful insolence for a pop that's right up with the times.

On Thursday, Vianney's protégée Mentissa takes the stage at the ERC, accompanied by opening act Joe Bel. Another 100% female duo for an evening of gentle, galvanizing and powerful vocals.

Normally scheduled for the1st edition... The Festival couldn't do without Deluxe to close this new edition in style. On stage, even crazier, brighter and more colorful costumes, inside a totally revamped scenography, leaving even more room for their explosiveness and infectious dynamism. Opening act Supamoon will also propel the audience "into the moon".

Leaving a lasting imprint on our environment with nature activities

Trees have inhabited our forests and remote areas for many years. It endures over time, in symbiosis with its environment. Hand against trunk, our imprints merge to look strangely alike. What if our destinies were intimately linked? What imprint do we want to leave?

The "Game of Trees Festival" is an invitation to live and share life-size experiences that leave a lasting imprint.

Pablo Sevigne, agricultural engineer and doctor of biology, a specialist in collapse, transition and agro-ecology, will open the Festival with a discussion on the growing and urgent challenges facing our environment.

an "ode to the elevation of our spirit", activities will be proposed to imagine new narratives and adopt a new outlook on the environment that surrounds us with :

  • Playful, participatory and immersive outdoor workshops offered free of charge every day in the resort's central squares and in the forest (tree climbing, zero waste apartment, sensory experiences, storytelling and/or biodiversity discovery walks, Fresque de la Forêt quiz, writing and painting workshops, idea box, recycling center...)
  • Encounters and eco-responsible challenges with "Maif Sport Planète" eco-adventurers, art and photography exhibitions on free wander.
  • Screenings and discussions at the Ubac cinema

An opportunity to provide the keys to action to preserve our environment, and the mountains in particular. A path already embarked upon at the heart of the Les Orres resort.

Focus: A Game of Trees village every afternoon

The nerve center of the Festival, the Game of Trees Village will be set up in the resort center every afternoon, inviting the public to imagine solutions and experience our environment in a variety of entertaining formats.

The "off" program with nature activities will be available on the site at the beginning of June. Some activities will be free, with a view to accessibility for all, while others will be chargeable.

An eco-responsible festival at the heart of a committed resort

Situated in the belvedere of Lac de Serre-Ponçon, at the gateway to the Parc national des Écrins, the Haute-Alpes resort of Les Orres is pursuing resolutely forward-looking projects and imagining a new way of experiencing the mountains. A pilot resort for the Alpine model, Les Orres combines tourist appeal with respect for the environment, thanks to committed initiatives to ensure its future while preserving its territory.

Culminating at an altitude of 2,720 m, Les Orres is a sporty yet accessible experiential destination offering unique experiences in the heart of a vast larch forest. A wilderness to be discovered on the ground or in the air, on Olympic-calibre slopes or on hiking trails.
