As part of the national program to reduce mountain waste, Les Orres resort is organizing a waste collection day in conjunction with the Mountain Riders association. The aim of this operation is not only to reduce litter, but also to raise public awareness of the importance of sorting waste and reducing it at source. The morning will be followed by a barbecue offered to all participants.
This litter-picking morning will take place in Les Orres on the ski area. The starting briefing will take place at 8.30 a.m. on the Front de neige 1650. Groups will be formed to follow different routes identified in advance by the organizers. The aim is to collect as much garbage as possible and then sort it by type (cigarette butts, plastic, metal, etc.), which will enable the resort to adapt its awareness-raising and prevention actions later on. At the end of the collection, participants will be offered a barbecue with a maximum of zero waste!
Recommended equipment: walking shoes, gloves, shopping bag and eco-cup
This action is in line with the resort's environmental policy , which has been implementing a number of eco-responsible actions over the last few years, in terms of waste management, mobility, environmental preservation, etc
Every year, the 0 waste operation is organized to preserve the mountain and raise public awareness.
In 2022, more than 50 volunteers came together for the garbage collection day, and over 150 kg of garbage of all kinds was collected on the Les Orres resort.
This activity is carried out in partnership with Mountain Riders, an association dedicated to education in ecological transition. They encourage young people to become drivers of change, by taking responsible steps, accompanying tourism players and involving citizens and elected representatives in taking action to preserve a mountain as essential as it is fragile!
