Les Orres wishes its skiers the best of luck!

Now that the Alpine World Ski Championships have been declared open, the resort of Les Orres wishes good luck to all the athletes taking part, especially the Tricolores, whom it will be delighted to welcome to the Elite French Alpine Ski Championships from March 23 to 30.

The Alpine resort of Les Orres and SCOCE - Ski Club Les Orres Crévoux Embrun, will be hosting the 110th French Elite Alpine Ski Championships , with 5 disciplines on the menu (Downhill, Super-G, Giant, Slalom and Super-Combined). This national event will be an opportunity to crown France's best skiers, celebrate the end of the season and, we hope, honour the medals won at the World Championships in France.

Among the athletes expected to take part are the best French skiers who are also making a name for themselves at world level

  • Men: Alexis PINTURAULT, Clément NOEL, Cyprien SARRAZIN, Johan CLAREY, Mathieu FAIVRE, Nils ALLEGRE
  • Women: Tessa WORLEY, Romane MIRADOLI, Nastasia NOENS, Coralie FRASSE SOMBET, Laura GAUCHE, Camille CERUTTI, Clara DIREZ

Rendezvous on the Olympic-calibre La Pousterle track

250 athletes are expected in Les Orres. Rendezvouson the Pousterle piste, one of the only FIS - Fédération Internationale de Ski - approved pistes in the Hautes Alpes. Renowned for its steepness and gradient, this black run links the top of the eponymous chairlift to the snow front at Les Orres 1800. The red Stade piste will also host some of the competitions.

  • Johan Clarey, from Annecy, World Super G vice-champion in 2019, Olympic downhill vice-champion in 2022, 2nd in the Kitzbühel downhill in 2023.
  • Luc Alphand, from Briançon, 34 World Cup victories, 3-time World Cup winner (1995, 1996, 1997), 10-time French Championship winner between 1985 and 1997. He won the Gros Globe (overall ranking in the Alpine Skiing World Cup) in 1997.
  • Beat Feuz, from Switzerland, downhill winner at the 2022 Olympic Games, he won the Alpine Skiing World Championships in 2017 and 4 times World Cup winner between 2017 and 2021.

Did you know?

La Pousterle was selected as the Olympic track for Nice's bid for the 2022 Olympic Games. It has already hosted the European Speed Cups in January 2019 and is aiming to host a stage of the Junior FIS World Cup and a FIS event.

Access to the race and slopes: The ski area will be open during the event. Chairlifts will be available to skiers and visitors to access the start of the races. Access to the Pousterle, Stade and Guet runs will be limited to visitors.
