This Thursday, March 12, the resort of Les ORRES will be adding a hybrid bus to its free shuttle network, a strong symbol of its commitment to sustainable mobility in the mountains of tomorrow. As a partner of the commune, Autocars Jullien has decided to take its commitment to Les Orres a step further.

While an intra-station transport system has already existed for several years, a hybrid bus will join the free shuttle fleet this Thursday, March 12, 2020.

This model, a Mercedes-Benz Citaro, offers three advantages that make it a must-have:

  • Extended range, unlike the all-electric version, which suffers particularly badly from the cold in winter.
  • Electric traction to complement the internal combustion engine, significantly reducing fuel consumption and CO2 emissions.
  • A flat floor, making access easier and smoother for all (pedestrians, PRMs, skiers, baby carriages, etc.).

The classic Citaro was already considered one of the most efficient buses of its generation. Its hybridization enhances this performance even further, saving up to 8.5% in fuel consumption according to tests carried out on an operating line, helping to reduce its CO2 emissions and earning it the 2019 " Sustainable bus award ".

In line with our commitment to Pierre Vollaire, Mayor of Les Orres, and a long-standing partner, we are delighted to have been able to offer this service, which is in line with everyone's efforts to promote sustainable mobility and enhance passenger comfort. Alongside Les Orres, we are fully and concretely committed to their sustainable development approach for the benefit of all,

Pascal Imbert, President of Autocars Jullien

Leader since 2018 of the European Smart Altitude program, LES ORRES is continuing its innovative initiatives that respect the natural environment.

With the two existing electric recharging stations and this new equipment, LES ORRES once again confirms its positioning as the pilot of tomorrow's mountain resort.
