The resort of Les Orres and its ambassadress Laura Peythieu want to support and develop women's mountain biking by staging a second 100% women's event for a maximum number of riders, whatever their level!
Our mountain biking destination continues to gain momentum. The feminization of mountain biking is in full swing, and we've been encouraging it for some years now. This season, we'd like to dedicate a special "Girly" weekend to women, to enable them to take up mountain biking in the right conditions, or to perfect their skills. It's an opportunity to turn the corner together!
Emmanuelle Tahmazian, Tourist Office Manager
Women's leisure mountain biking is dominated by the 31/40 age group, with a significant start in the 23/30 age group. In France, female riders account for 10% of all cyclists, the majority of whom are cyclists (55%), and to a lesser extent mountain bikers (35%) and BMX riders (9%). In 2021 in Les Orres, the Bike Park welcomed 10% female customers. So there's still plenty of room for improvement in terms of feminizing the sport! That's what the Girly Ride is all about :)
WHO IS IT FOR? All female riders! From beginners to experts, the aim is to enable every female mountain biker to make progress over a weekend.
WHEN? The weekend of June 24 and 25, 2023, which also marks the pre-opening weekend of the Les Orres resort! A great opportunity to get together and celebrate!
In short: RIDE, CHILL & PARTY!
